Context
EasyReserv was born from the need to streamline the complex operations of service-based businesses. Many business owners and administrators struggled with inflexible, multi-platform solutions that made managing staff, clients and resources a chore. Our goal was to design a tool that made running a business easier, more intuitive and fully tailored to the local market.
I took on the role of UX/UI Designer, working closely with the founder and potential users to build a platform that business owners would find indispensable.
My contributions were deeply embedded in every stage of the project, from initial user research to iterating designs based on real user feedback. It was a collaborative process where our focus remained on delivering a product that business owners could easily integrate into their daily operations.
The work began by interviewing business owners and administrators to better understand their challenges. Two key insights stood out:
Existing solutions were rigid, not aligned with local needs;
Managing multiple platforms made it hard to monitor staff, track clients and manage resources effectively;
These pain points guided the development of EasyReserv. We aimed to create a platform that provided seamless management of staff schedules, client appointments, resources, and supplier communication — all in one place.
With a clear idea of user needs, we set out to define the product scope:
Business management: Staff scheduling, document flow and shift planning;
Client management: Streamlined booking processes and occupancy tracking;
Resource management: Inventory tracking and supplier communication;
Using FigJam for outlining flows and Figma for wireframes and prototypes, I designed user flows based on the actions business owners performed. Each design focused on usability, ensuring that business owners could operate the app with minimal effort in busy environments. Through multiple iterations and user feedback, I refined the experience to better serve specific use cases.
To build our pilot concept, we focused on the HoReCa sector, specifically restaurants. I conducted a lot of user interviews to find out what a typical work day looks like and how they process the flow of orders and bookings. This helped us build a digital workplace that will enhance their work experience.
User testing was a critical part of our process. It revealed three major improvements:
Outcomes
After one year of operation, EasyReserv made a measurable impact:
4,000+ reservations were created through the app
Over 1,000 users adopted the platform
20 locations were successfully set up
By simplifying day-to-day operations, EasyReserv has become an invaluable tool for businesses looking to streamline their booking processes and resource management.
Challenges
& learnings
EasyReserv was a challenging yet highly rewarding project. My role as a UX/UI Designer allowed me to directly impact the business processes of service providers, helping them move away from fragmented solutions to a seamless, integrated platform. Through careful research, design and iteration, we successfully built a solution that business owners could rely on, with a clear focus on ease of use and scalability.
The primary challenge was the scalability of the platform. Although the platform was initially designed for the HoReCa industry, we had to ensure that EasyReserv could adapt to other service-based businesses. This required me to think carefully about the platform's modularity, allowing it to scale across various industries without sacrificing functionality or user experience.
This project taught me valuable lessons about balancing flexibility with simplicity in design, and it's one of the reasons I'm excited about future projects where user experience can make a real difference.
